The Barcol hardness tester (Bakker hardness tester) is an indentation hardness tester. It is fast and easy to use, requiring only one press to test the hardness of aluminum and aluminum alloy materials. It complies with the American standard ASTM B648.
Usage:
The Barcol hardness tester is mainly used to test the hardness of aluminum and aluminum alloys, and can also be used to test the hardness of other soft metals and fiberglass products. It can test various oversized, ultra-wide, and ultra-thick workpieces and assemblies, as well as plates, strips, profiles, forgings, castings, etc. The W-20 Vickers hardness tester, which is widely used in the aluminum processing industry, is suitable for most aluminum alloys. For super-hard aluminum alloys such as 2024 and 7075, the W-B75 Vickers hardness tester or the Barcol hardness tester can be used. For pure aluminum, low-hardness aluminum alloys, particularly thick aluminum alloys, and other aluminum alloy workpieces that are not convenient to test with the Vickers hardness tester, the Barcol hardness tester should be used. The Barcol hardness tester is generally used as a supplement to the Vickers hardness tester and is used when testing pure aluminum, low-hardness aluminum alloys, and oversized and ultra-thick materials.
Advantages:
It is small in size, light in weight (510g), and easy to carry.
One-handed operation, no experience required. It can be tested in any situation as long as it is within reach.
The testing range is wide. It can test from very soft pure aluminum to particularly hard aluminum alloys. The effective testing range is equivalent to 25 to 135 HB in Brinell hardness.
The sensitivity is high. The韦氏 hardness tester has only 20 scales, while the巴氏 hardness tester has 100 scales, which has higher sensitivity.
Note: It seems there might be a misunderstanding in the original text as "韦氏硬度计" and "巴 are not standard terms in English. If " and are names of
The Barcol hardness tester only tests on one side of the sample and does not require support, making it suitable for testing oversized, thick workpieces and assemblies.
Convenient for conversion. Through the conversion table, hardness values such as Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and Wilson can be obtained.
