The bicycle multi-functional impact and drop test machine is a dedicated testing device that simulates the ability of bicycles (including electric bicycles) to withstand impact loads during normal use, transportation, installation or accidental drops. It mainly conducts drop weight impact tests on key structural components such as the frame, front fork and handlebar, or performs drop tests on the entire vehicle in different postures to verify whether their impact resistance performance complies with national or international standards.
Test purpose
Frame/Fork Impact: Simulate the situation during cycling where the front wheel is obstructed (such as hitting a curb), causing the fork to bend backward, or the down tube of the frame is struck by a stone. Key points to examine: whether there are cracks in the welded areas, whether the fork legs are permanently deformed, and whether the steerer tube is broken.
Handlebar/Steerer tube impact: Simulate the impact of the end of the handlebar hitting the ground during a crash. Key points to examine: Whether the handlebar rotates at the clamping point and whether the steerer tube breaks.
Whole vehicle drop: Simulate the situation where the vehicle is unstable during parking or falls during handling. Key points to examine: The extent of paint peeling on the frame, the degree of damage to components (such as the transmission and brake handle), and whether the battery box (for electric-assist vehicles) has come out or been damaged.
Applicable standards: ISO 4210-6, GB 3565, EN 14764.
Test Principle:
Lift the fully assembled vehicle (including the battery, if any) to a specific height (typically 300 - 1000 mm).
Release it in the preset positions (horizontal, vertical, tilted, handlebar touching the ground, etc.) and let it fall freely onto the concrete ground or steel plate.
Check for frame deformation, paint damage and whether the electrical functions are normal (for electric-assisted bicycles).
Technical parameters
| Parameter (Left) | Specification (Left) | Parameter (Right) | Specification (Right) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Power Supply | AC 220V (±10%), 50 Hz | Impact Height | Max 1500 mm (adjustable per test requirements) |
| Impact Mass | 15 kg, 22.5 kg (additional masses available per test requirements) | Operating System | Feihong proprietary development |
| Display Configuration | 10.1 inch screen | Lifting Guide | Linear bearings + SUJ bearing shaft rail |
| Impact Hammer Trigger | Mechanical cartridge-type electromagnetic clutch device, double anti-drop protection | Impact Hammer Modularization | Interchangeable impact hammers per test standards |
| Upper/Lower Limit Device | Lifting upper/lower limit protection switches and positioning settings | Weight | Approx. 160 kg |
| Workbench Area | 60 cm × 180 cm (for frame) | 60 cm × 60 cm (for components) (W×H) | |
| Overall Dimensions | Main unit: 2300 × 780 × 2700 mm (W×D×H) | Control cabinet: 370 × 350 × 970 mm (L×W×H) |
Test Method
1. Install the frame/fork assembly on the dummy rear axle of the equipment.
2. Install a standard-made roller with a weight of no more than 1 kg on the front fork.
3.Adjust the weight of the impact hammer to 22.5 kilograms.
4. Set the impact height from 180mm to 300mm and the number of impacts on the touch screen (the device can be set automatically).
5. It is equipped with a steel ruler that can indicate the height before and after the impact, allowing for the measurement of deformation (the test is repeated twice).
6.After the test is completed, inspect the assembly for cracks and the extent of deformation, and determine its qualification based on the standards.
