1. Overview:
The Barcol hardness tester (Bakker hardness tester) is an indentation hardness tester. It is fast and simple to test, requiring only one press, and is used for quickly testing the hardness of aluminum and aluminum alloy materials, in compliance with the American standard ASTM B648. ASTM HD2583-07 "Test Method for Measuring Hardness of Hard Plastics by Barcol Hardness Tester" and GB/T 3854-2005 "Test Method for Barcol Hardness of Reinforced Plastics".
2. Usage:
The Barcol hardness tester is mainly used to test the hardness of aluminum and aluminum alloys, and can also be used to test the hardness of other soft metals and fiberglass reinforced plastic products. It can test various oversized, ultra-wide, and ultra-thick workpieces and assemblies, as well as plates, strips, profiles, forgings, castings, etc.
The W-20 Vickers hardness tester, which is widely used in the aluminum processing industry, is suitable for most aluminum alloys. For super-hard aluminum alloys such as 2024 and 7075, the W-B75 Vickers hardness tester or the Brinell hardness tester can be used. For pure aluminum, low-hardness aluminum alloys, particularly thick aluminum alloy parts, and other aluminum alloy workpieces that are not convenient to use the Vickers hardness tester, the Brinell hardness tester should be used.
The Barcol hardness tester is generally used as a supplement to the Vickers hardness tester, and is applied when testing pure aluminum, low-hardness aluminum alloys, and extremely large or thick materials.
Advantages:
It is equipped with a bracket rotation positioning device.
The machine automatically converts hardness values between HW, HV, HB, HRE, HRF, HRB and HRH.
It has a maximum value holding function and records the maximum hardness value during the measurement period.
It has the function of calculating the average value, capable of calculating the average of up to 29 groups of data.
It is small in size, light in weight (550g), and easy to carry.
Good stability, convenient calibration and high detection accuracy.
One-handed operation, no experience required. It can be tested in any situation as long as it is within reach.
The testing range is wide. It can test from very soft pure aluminum to particularly hard aluminum alloys. The effective testing range is equivalent to that of Brinell hardness.
25 to 135 HB.
High sensitivity. The Vickers hardness tester has only 20 scales, while the Barcol hardness tester has a testing range of 0-100, demonstrating higher sensitivity.
Note: The names of the hardness testers "Vickers hardness tester" and " Barcol hardness tester are transliterated as "Weishi Hardness Tester" and "Bashi Hardness Tester" respectively, as there
No support is needed, making it suitable for testing extremely large, thick workpieces and assemblies.
